Creative & Performing Arts

There is ample chance to work with a range of inspirations and media.

Creative Arts

Children are taught art skills by experienced and trained teachers to produce stunning pieces both in the classroom and in the modern art studio. There is ample chance to work with a range of inspirations and media; this allows pupils to explore and experiment creatively with different styles and methods - and to express themselves.

Art is both embedded into topic work and taught as a separate subject within the IEPC.

Performing Arts

MUSIC

Music is at the heart of life in the Prep School, with children enjoying instrumental and vocal tuition with a specialist Music teacher as part of the curriculum both in class and in our specialist Music building.

We encourage every child to play and perform in assemblies and class, as well as at formal and informal concerts. Music is very popular and many children take music exams.

DRAMA

Drama helps to build a child’s confidence, creativity and communication skills. The Prep children love performing and there are plenty of opportunities for them to try out a variety of styles in weekly lessons with specialist Drama teachers. Many will take part in productions, festivals and public events, performing to varied audiences.

A specialist drama teacher also coaches those from Year 2 upwards who are keen to take LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) qualifications.
