Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

Experienced staff and small class sizes equal strong pastoral care in a secure and nurturing environment. There is an embedded culture of kindness and mutual respect between peers, pupils and teachers alike.

Because the children learn and grow within this environment, they develop a caring attitude towards each other, their school and the world around them. We have high expectations of behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.

This is underpinned by the Prep School 'Personal Goals' of which there are nine. With qualities such as thoughtfulness, cooperation, morality, respect and resilience, the pastoral aspect of these personal goals is as important as the academic side.

There is a culture of kindness, care and mutual respect at Stonar. These values are reinforced continually, through assemblies and are also built into activities and tasks in the classroom.

The form tutor builds close relationships with all children and looks after their pastoral well-being, reinforced by an excellent team in the Prep and Senior Schools.
