Stonar's year-round Nursery is focussed specifically on the needs of 3-4 year olds, guiding them to build their knowledge and skills through learning and play.
A combination of adult and child-led activities are structured by our highly-qualified staff around the learning principles that are essential to children's learning and development. The International Early Years Curriculum's (IEYC) unique process shifts the focus from measuring outcomes to the child's development pathway. The IEYC learning cycle makes connections between learning in different subject areas; a holistic approach which children instinctively embrace and which deepens and enriches their understanding.
The Nursery’s curriculum ensures children are well prepared for school when that transition comes. The learning cycle makes connections between learning in different subject areas; a holistic approach which children instinctively embrace, and which deepens and enriches their understanding.
Warm and trusting relationships between staff and children gently encourage the children to grow emotionally, socially and intellectually. This is where they learn to love learning, ready for all the years that follow.
Children spend lots of time outdoors, both in the nursery’s own dedicated play areas and in the wider school grounds. Forest School sessions take place twice a week and children also benefit from specialist teaching in swimming, ballet and Spanish.
The Nursery is currently transitioning to be for 3+ only. We currently accept children from the age of 2 provided they will be 3 by January 2019. From January 2019, children will be able to join on the day following their third birthday.
