"Stonar is a school where children can be themselves. A place where children have the opportunity to follow their passions and achieve with joy. I am incredibly proud that our innovative curriculum and fantastic facilities allow us to expose children to opportunities other schools cannot. Children find their passions at Stonar in an environment where they can express themselves and gain the confidence required to enjoy a lifetime of learning.
Prep children achieve highly and make excellent progress from the Early Years up to Year 6. This is due to the culture embedded throughout the school that focuses on working hard, being kind and getting involved. It is also down to a dedicated and passionate staff who reach beyond academic achievement to create an environment of enriched opportunity, holding sports, equestrian music and performing arts in equal esteem.
Children get one chance at their Primary education and Stonar is a place where children thrive and excel. A word from Mrs Worrall
"One of the real strengths of Stonar Prep is being part of an all through school. Our pupils benefit from the facilities, resources and expertise of the whole school from an early age. Many of our teachers teach across both Prep and Senior School, bringing specialist subject knowledge as well as a real understanding of what pupils will need as they progress. In fact, some of our teachers can find themselves teaching Spanish or swimming to our youngest Nursery pupils and then teaching pupils right through to Sixth Form!
Our Prep pupils also benefit from the facilities and opportunities of the wider school, whether that is through science, technology, sport, music, drama and the arts, our extensive grounds and outdoor spaces, or our unique equestrian provision. It gives pupils the chance to try different things, discover what they enjoy and be stretched in areas where they have particular strengths.
We want pupils to leave Prep with strong academic foundations, but also as confident, curious and increasingly independent learners, ready for what comes next.
For those continuing into Stonar Senior School, the transition is a natural one, but it is still an exciting new start. Lots of new pupils join us in Year 7, bringing new friendships and a different dynamic to the year group. Our Prep pupils have the reassurance of moving into a school they already know, without missing out on the excitement of starting Senior School."
