Prep Open Morning
Stonar's Prep School looks out over our vast green fields, providing space for our children to grow academically and pastorally. Pupils follow a varied and interesting curriculum, with Nursery and Reception following 'In the Moment' learning for a child-led experience. Despite having their own building, Stonar Prep children have full access to the whole school facilities, including weekly swimming lessons from Nursery onwards.
Our Prep Open Morning will provide families with an opportunity to experience first hand our 80 acre campus. Head of Prep, Mr Rob Cunningham, will be hosting the morning supported by his Prep teaching team and admissions staff, who will be on hand to answer any questions.
Families will be able to tour the school on a normal day, seeing lessons in action and witnessing first hand the hard-working and welcoming atmosphere.

Meet our Head of Prep, Mr Rob Cunningham
Rob Cunningham joined Stonar in September 2019, and has been teaching for almost 20 years.
Throughout his career Rob has taught in every year group and had the opportunity to lead a variety of subjects, ranging from Maths to PSHE. This vast experience enables him to drive forward academic standards and individual achievement, while ensuring pupils are enjoying learning and develop a lifelong curiosity for the world around them.
Rob oversees the entire Prep School, and teaches lessons in every Key Stage.
"There are a number of things that I enjoy most about Stonar, but it starts as you drive onto the estate; the School has a very special feel about it and the space and sky immediately put you in a positive state of mind. This immediate impression is backed up by dedicated staff, committed and happy children and a positive community." Rob Cunningham

Year 6 Leaders
When pupils enter Year 6, they are given the opportunity to have more responsibility in the Prep School. Year 6 Leaders gives every child the chance to hold a different role, from Class Leader, to Playground Monitor, to Charity Leader.
These role allocations change every half-term, so the whole year group experience different roles and discover where their strengths lie. This builds confidence and leadership skills that support their transition to the Senior School.
As new Stonar parents, we have certainly found the school atmosphere to be warm, friendly and welcoming. You can definitely see that in the children!"
