Boarding Houses

Each of our boarding Houses is individual, led by our committed and caring House Parents who help boarders make new friends, encourage them to take part in new activities and fully embrace boarding lifeYounger boarders can share rooms of up to 6, so they have a large group of firm friends and can support each other through the boarding experience. As children become older, rooms can be quads, twins or singles, to allow for privacy and focus as individual study increases. All Houses have good Wi-Fi throughout, as well as designated computer areas which allow for independent study and group work. Boarders enjoy access to the wider school facilities at weekends and evenings:

  • Heated indoor swimming pool
  • Gym
  • Tennis courts
  • Sports hall
  • Floodlit Astro
  • Equestrian centre
  • Plus a bar for Sixth Form students

Our family of 130 boarders is split into three houses, all located on the School site.

Hart House

Junior boys (from Year 5) are located in a wing of Hart House, along with separate wings for Senior boys (Year 10 - Upper Sixth) and Year 11 girls. A converted farmhouse of twin rooms, Hart is a spacious, yet cosy, setting on the edge of the school site. It's peaceful location, devoid of noise or light pollution, ensures a guaranteed good night's sleep. In the evenings and weekends, pupils enjoy making use of the outdoor space surrounding the property as well as the common rooms and kitchen.

Ganbrook House

Girls from Year 5 to Year 10 enjoy their location in the centre of the School. Ganbrook House is located in the original manor house, which is full of unique rooms and period features. Pupils will find that they are in close proximity to all the School's facilities and teaching spaces, with Ganbrook girls particularly enjoying being the closest to the dining hall and equestrian centre!

York House

Our Sixth Form Girls are housed in York House, located centrally within the school, enabling quick and easy access to their classrooms in between independent study, which is carried out in their rooms or in communal areas in York. York House is built around a central garden area, perfect for socilaising with friends, alfresco dining and a peaceful yoga workout.

Meals

All boarders eat their main meals in La Cantina, and each House has a small kitchen that allows them to make hot and cold drinks, snacks and treats. Large communal areas allow space to relax and socialise and integrate with older and younger peers.
