Year 9 Pupils Rise to 21km Bath Hills Challenge
Eighteen Year 9 pupils put their navigation skills and endurance to the test on Sunday as they tackled a challenging 21km walk through the hills surrounding Bath as part of Stonar’s Adventure Programme.
Working in small groups alongside members of staff, pupils navigated the route while developing their map-reading and outdoor skills. For many, the challenge represented the longest distance they had ever walked.
Despite the demanding terrain and distance, the pupils approached the day with enthusiasm, determination and plenty of good humour. Spirits remained high throughout the walk, with everyone successfully completing the full 21km route.
The challenge was not only a test of physical endurance but also provided pupils with an opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and teamwork. Set against the beautiful countryside on Stonar’s doorstep, the day proved a rewarding experience for all involved, with pupils finishing the walk with a well-earned sense of achievement.
