Unforgettable Trip to India

Pupils from Years 8 to Upper Sixth have recently returned from a life-changing educational adventure in India.

The trip immersed the pupils in the vibrant culture and breathtaking sights of the country. They began their journey in McLeod Ganj, the spiritual heart of the Tibetan community in exile. Here, they visited the Dalai Lama Temple, the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, and even learned the traditional craft of pine needle making.

For a well-rounded cultural experience, pupils participated in daily yoga sessions and explored the Tibet Museum. A visit to the Dolma Ling Nunnery and the Tibetan Children's Village further enriched their understanding of Tibetan life. Culinary exploration wasn't forgotten - the group learned the art of making momos, a popular Tibetan dumpling.

The trip offered a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Indian religions. Pupils marveled at the stunning Tibetan art and crafts at the Norbulingka Institute and visited the Aghmanjar Mahadev Hindu Temple for a historical perspective.

The final leg of the journey was filled with both learning and fun activities. A knowledge quiz tested the pupils' newfound understanding of India. They also enjoyed shopping sprees, henna painting, and an energetic Punjabi dance workshop.

The grand finale was a truly magical experience: a visit to the awe-inspiring Golden Temple in Amritsar at sunset. Back in Delhi, the group explored iconic landmarks like India Gate and Jama Masjid. Their journey culminated in Agra, where they witnessed the majesty of the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort firsthand.

While Team India 24 is now back in the UK, the memories and knowledge gained from this incredible trip will undoubtedly stay with them for a lifetime.
