U16 Netball Team Crowned Champions

Congratulations to our fantastic U16 netball team, who were crowned West Wilts U16 Champions after winning all eight matches at a tournament this week.

The girls scored an impressive 71 goals and conceded just 18, a remarkable achievement, particularly as we are not yet in netball season.

The team opened with an 11–0 victory over Corsham before a closely fought 7–5 win against St Mary’s. Further victories followed against Malmesbury (8–1), Sheldon (7–0), Abbeyfield (10–0), Malmesbury B (9–0) and Hardenhuish (12–6).

The closest match came against Kingsbury Green Academy. With just 15 seconds remaining and the score tied at 6–6, Frankie won the ball in centre court, creating the opportunity for the winning goal and a thrilling 7–6 victory.

There were some excellent individual performances throughout the afternoon, with Sophie, Bea and others earning Player of the Match recognition, while the whole squad showed determination, adaptability and fantastic teamwork.

The girls supported one another brilliantly throughout a long afternoon and thoroughly deserved their eight wins. A huge congratulations to the whole team!
