Stonar Pupils Excel in Overnight TrekQuinox Challenge

Over the weekend, three Stonar teams took on the demanding annual TrekQuinox Challenge, an overnight endurance event that tests navigation, teamwork and resilience.

Organised by Bath District Scouts, TrekQuinox sees teams set off at sunset and walk through the night, navigating independently between checkpoints without the use of mobile phones. Covering a route of just over 20 miles, participants must rely on their map-reading skills and self-sufficiency to reach the finish by sunrise.

Stonar entered three teams into this year’s event as part of their preparation for the Ten Tors Challenge, and all groups performed exceptionally well. Each team successfully completed the full route in strong times, demonstrating determination and excellent teamwork throughout the night.

Particularly impressive was one Stonar team, who finished in 4th place overall with a time of just over eight hours a remarkable achievement in such a physically and mentally demanding event.

The TrekQuinox Challenge provides invaluable experience for students training for Ten Tors, helping them develop navigation skills, endurance and confidence in challenging conditions. This weekend’s results highlight the strength of Stonar’s outdoor education programme and the commitment of its students.

Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic achievement!
