Senior School production thrills audiences!
Stonar's Buckle Theatre was set alight last weekend (21/22 March), as talented pupils from Years 7 to Upper Sixth delivered three unforgettable performances of 'School of Rock: The Next Generation'.
The high-energy production, staged on Friday and two performances on Saturday, had audiences clapping and cheering along from the opening number to the final, rocking encore.
Leading the cast was Oscar D (Year 11), who delivered a standout performance as the iconic Dewey Finn. His boundless energy, infectious humour, and impressive stage presence captivated the audience, perfectly embodying the rebellious yet ultimately lovable substitute teacher.
Opposite him, Saskia R (LVI) shone as the poised and passionate headmistress, Rosalie Mullins. Her captivating portrayal brought depth and nuance to the role, and her vocal performances were particularly impressive.
The supporting cast of pupils from year 7 upwards, brought the classroom of Horace Green Preparatory School to life, while a talented ensemble of a unique blend of professional musicians, dedicated staff members, and the school's very own Joel M (Year 11), provided the show's accompanying music. Finally, a dedicated and hardworking team of pupils operated tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring every aspect of the production ran seamlessly.
Stonar's Director of Drama, Tom Wansey, said: "A huge congratulations to everyone involved—both on stage and off—for their hard work, commitment, and sheer talent. It was a truly engaging and entertaining experience for all who watched.
"School of Rock was an undeniable success, a true testament to the incredible talent and collaborative spirit within our school community. We can’t wait to see what next year’s production will bring!"
