Pupil Selected for Netherlands’ National Cricket Team
Congratulations to Stonar pupil, Tommy H, who has been selected to represent the Netherlands in U19 Cricket, who are currently vying for a spot in the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
Tommy, who has been a passionate cricketer from a young age, has shown exceptional skill and dedication both on and off the field. After years of hard work, training, and success, this prestigious call-up to the Netherlands national team is a well-deserved recognition of his talent.
Tommy has already played seven matches for the Dutch team as part of their preparations, taking 12 wickets, including 3 wickets for 41 runs against Denmark in Rotterdam, one of the teams the Netherlands will face in the qualifiers.
Tommy has represented Wiltshire in age group cricket since the age of 9 and plays club cricket for local side Biddestone. Tommy is an off-spin bowler who bats at the top of the order. Tommy has played for Stonar's First 11 since Year 7 and was recently part of the team that reached the County Cup final against Marlborough College, after beating Dauntsey’s in an earlier round of the competition.
Tommy is also part of Stonar’s able athlete programme, and he has benefited from being able to play regularly for School and club in his preferred roles to develop his skills.
We are proud of Tommy’s achievement and wish him the very best as he steps onto the international pitch.
