Drama Round-Up
Lionboy – 19 & 20 March
Our recent production of Lionboy was a tremendous success, showcasing the talent, commitment, and creativity of our Year 7 - 9 pupils. With 22 pupils involved across both cast and crew, the production was a true ensemble effort.

The piece made striking use of physical theatre, with the cast remaining on stage throughout and transforming each new setting using only wooden stools. This demanded not only imagination but also a high level of focus and collaboration, all of which the pupils rose to brilliantly. Their hard work and dedication were evident in every moment of the performance.

While every member of the company should feel incredibly proud of their contribution, a special mention must go to Eddie C (Year 7) in the title role. His performance was particularly impressive, not least for the sheer number of lines he mastered with confidence and clarity.

The cast and crew worked seamlessly together to bring this ambitious production to life, and it was wonderful to see such supportive and enthusiastic audiences across both evenings. Lionboy was, without doubt, a huge success and a fantastic celebration of drama at Stonar.

Prep & Senior Drama Showcase – 25 March
Our Prep and Senior Drama Showcase was a vibrant and inspiring celebration of performance at Stonar, bringing together 40 pupils from Year 4 through to Year 11.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the evening was the opportunity for pupils across the Prep and Senior School to watch and appreciate each other’s work. The programme featured a rich variety of performances, including monologues, duologues, a dynamic group piece from our Drama Scholars, and a wonderfully energetic Year 5 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet—performed in just ten minutes!
The evening moved effortlessly between poignant, gripping drama and moments of genuine humour, highlighting the breadth and depth of talent within our drama community. It was clear to see not only the skill and confidence of our performers, but also their willingness to take creative risks and fully engage with their material.
This showcase was just a glimpse of what our pupils are capable of, and there are many more excellent pieces that we simply could not fit into one evening.
A huge thank you must go to Mrs. Ingledew and Mrs. Clarkson for their dedication and hard work in preparing the pupils for such a successful and enjoyable event.
