Celebrate Darwin Day with Stonar's very own Darwin!

Today, 12 February, is International Darwin Day, a global celebration of Charles Darwin's groundbreaking contributions to science.

Here at Stonar, we have a unique reason to celebrate: we're home to our very own Charles Darwin!

Created by our pupils last year as part of the Globeducate hi!ai project, our AI Darwin chatbot is ready to answer any question you throw his way. This innovative project allows pupils to engage directly with Darwin's legacy in a dynamic and interactive way.

James Cole, Stonar's Head of Computer Science, said: "Darwin Day is about embracing intellectual courage, perpetual curiosity, scientific thinking, and a thirst for truth - all qualities embodied by Charles - and values we actively cultivate in our pupils."

The Globeducate hi!ai project, which involved Stonar alongside 11 sister schools, recently garnered attention from BBC News.

The project's innovative approach to AI in education, including the creation of an AI chatbot of BBC presenter, Christian Fraser, by PASCAL International Education (another participating school), was featured in a recent broadcast.

Elpidoforos Anastasiou, Head of AI and Innovation at PASCAL, was interviewed about the project's impact and potential. Click here to view the interview.
