Bank Holiday Weekend

The Bank Holiday weekend began with a relaxed and sociable Friday evening. With the sun still shining, boarders enjoyed time outside. York Sixth Form kicked off the weekend with a refreshing afternoon of Pimm’s and a paddling pool - very welcome in the warm weather. Across the houses, pupils cooled off with garden hoses, played tennis, and relaxed on the front lawn, making the most of the late spring sunshine.

Saturday brought a busy start, with many involved in cricket fixtures during the morning, representing the school with great spirit. In the afternoon, creativity took over as students got hands-on making their own pizzas. The range of toppings and artistic flair on display was impressive, and the best part, of course, was enjoying the delicious results together before heading back to the boarding houses. In Ganbrook, the girls had a relaxed late afternoon of arts and crafts, making the most of the quiet time to unwind and get creative making dream catchers.

Sunday saw a full-day trip to Thorpe Park, where pupils enjoyed the excitement of roller coasters, the fun of the log flume, and some downtime on the man-made beach area. With a mix of thrills and chill, it was the perfect day out with something for everyone.

On Monday, the final day of the long weekend, some boarders took a trip into Bath for a spot of Bank Holiday shopping and a change of scenery, while others opted for a slower pace, enjoying the onsite facilities and a restful afternoon. To round off what had been a truly enjoyable weekend, everyone came together in the evening for a relaxed BBQ - great food, good company, and a perfect way to end the extended weekend.
