Boarding Life in Full Swing

As we reach the second weekend of term, our boarding community is really beginning to find its rhythm.

Pupils are settling into routines, striking a balance between study, free time, and exploring the local area, while also embracing all that Stonar has to offer.

On Friday evening, the Sixth Form enjoyed a welcome event in York as part of the Friday Night Club. The pizza oven was well tested and produced excellent results, with freshly made pizzas, dough balls and garlic bread enjoyed alongside music and refreshments. It was lovely to see so many of our new pupils, both day and boarders, joining the evening and settling into life here.

Saturday was a slightly quieter day on site, with pupils making the most of our on site facilities, playing badminton and spending time in the fitness suite, before an afternoon trip to a local tack shop. The shop’s tempting selection of clothing and equipment appealed to riders and horse enthusiasts alike, and the stop at the café for ice cream and cake was also an option.

On Sunday, energy levels rose again with a visit to the West Country Water Park in Bristol, where inflatables, slides and plenty of friendly competition made for a lively and memorable day. The weekend closed with a hot meal back at school and a calm evening preparing for the week ahead.

It has been a positive start to the term, and with routines now in place, friendships forming and plenty of opportunities to take part in, the boarding community is already feeling vibrant and at home.
