Stonar Pupil Emily Wins at Blue Chip Winter Showjumping Championship

Stonar Pupil Emily Wins at Blue Chip Winter Showjumping Championship
  • Pupil Success

Year 8 pupil Emily celebrated an amazing victory over the Easter holidays, winning the Discovery Final at the Blue Chip Winter Showjumping Championship.

Emily and her nine year old horse Lionel came up against 66 competitors in their class, hoping to gain a rug, sash and take the coveted lap of honour. Only 22 riders made it through the first round, including Emily, who then had to compete for the title. It was the first time Lionel had ridden against the clock, so the stakes were high.

Emily and Lionel soared round the course, claiming the victory by 0.40 seconds. This is a fantastic achievement by both, and the Stonar community is very proud of this dynamic duo.

When asked for comment on the day by Horse and Hound, Emily said:

"It was his first time against the clock. He is the kindest pony, who will help me out of a tight spot if I make a mistake and loves attention!

My school is fantastic and allow me as much time off as I need for competing and training."

Congratulations Emily and Lionel! We can't wait to hear all about your next competition.
