Ms Maria Urbieta EYFS Nursery Manager, QTS Maria Urbieta

Hola! Me llamo Maria. As you can tell I am Spanish but my mother tongue is Basque. I came to the UK 6 years ago to improve my English and I worked as an au pair before starting at Snapdragons in Bath.

What I love about working with children: Working with children is what I love most. I chose this career as I want to help and develop the most important years of someone's life. I believe that getting the early years right will unlock the true potential in any child.

Miss Sian Davies, Deputy Manager and EYFS SENCO, Level 6 Dip

Stonar 2017 - 965

Hello! My name is Siân and I am the Deputy Manager and EYFS SENCO at Stonar Nursery. I am currently studying for a BA Honours Degree in Childhood and Youth Studies at the Open University. I started my career in childcare by hosting children's birthday parties and working in holiday clubs before moving into nurseries.

What I love about working with children: These first few years in life are vital for children to develop new skills that will help them to progress in the future. I find working with children in Early Years such a rewarding job as I get to help create opportunities for them to grow and to support them as they develop in this stage of life. It has been found that children learn a lot through general play. I love to observe children as they learn things through trial and error and see their developing confidence and the pride they feel in themselves when they achieve something.

What attracted you to Stonar? The facilities at Stonar are incredible and allow children to explore and reach their full potential whilst in a safe environment. The setting and views around Stonar make it a lovely place to work.

Miss Ella Fiducia-Brookes, EYFS Assistant, Level 4Ella F-B

I am currently studying part time for a foundation degree in Childhood Studies at Winchester University. Before coming to Stonar, I worked at Sixpenny Nursery in Devizes.Prior to this I worked at a girls' boarding school in Winnipeg, Canada, helping with the younger years and in the boarding house.

What I love about working with children: It has been proven that the support and care given to children during the first five years of life is fundamental for their future adult lives. I feel privileged to be part of this early development and love seeing the children grow.

What attracted you to Stonar?: As an ex-student of Stonar I have always loved the school! I think that the staff are hugely supportive of the pupils and of each other. The facilities and grounds at Stonar offer great scope for children's development.

I love to support the children and enable them to reach their optimum potential in all of the prime areas.

What attracted you to Stonar? There is an emphasis on building strong, positive relationships with the children so that they have the tools and support to take risks and learn through their experiences.

I have always loved working with children; I worked at Longscroft Nursery for around 11 years before joining Stonar. We are very privileged in our job to be able to be part of the children’s lives and to watch them grow and develop.

What I love about working with children - Being the Forest School leader I work with the Early Years and also Prep School children. The staff are very welcoming and the children are great to be with. Our Forest School is an opportunity for the children to learn and have fun in a different and sometimes new environment. The philosophy of the Forest School is to encourage and inspire individuals through positive outdoor experiences.

I began working at Stonar almost 10 years ago and I love it here, Every day is different. It's lovely to see the children progress and grow in confidence as they go up through the school.
