Modern boarding is a vastly different experience to that of a generation ago. The value for pupils and their families are clear to see.
Rather than a substitute for home, boarding provides an extension to a child's life and education, significantly enhancing relationships with family and friends, and providing a wealth of additional opportunities for a child to really get the most out of their school lives.
Because Stonar has such a friendly, inclusive and nurturing environment pupils naturally develop a strong sense of responsibility, caring for fellow pupils, their school and the wider world. As members of one of our junior and senior Houses, boarding and day pupils mix together. Everyone benefits from the experience of a residential style of education.
Stretched and inspired by everything they experience at Stonar, and supported by our strong community, Stonar girls develop into confident, out-going young women. Each House has its own distinctive identity but all share a family atmosphere. Full boarding is popular and flexible options are also available.
An exciting range of evening and weekend activities with choice and variety ensures that girls' existing interests are catered for, whilst everyone is encouraged to try new things. As part of a diverse community with an internationalist dimension pupils will make friends from all around the world, developing an appreciation and understanding of different cultures and viewpoints.
